Drop Off Procedures (November 2021 update)

Morning drop-off starts at 7:40 AM. Please do not drop off children any earlier than this time.

  1. Pull forward as far as possible, paying attention to how soon cars in front of you may be pulling away from the curb. It might work to wait a few moments before students get out so that you can pull forward even farther. Follow the aides as directed.
  2. Please remain in a single line of cars in the right hand lane (against the curb) unless guided by a traffic guide to go around cars which are unloading. In the diagram, the green cars represent safe unloading spaces.
  3. Have students exit the vehicle toward the sidewalk. When you are ready to leave the curb, please turn on your left turn signal to indicate you are leaving. Pull into the left hand lane when that lane is clear.
  4. Proceed at no more than 5 mph through the parking lot.
  5. Once in the street, do not exceed 15 mph, until you exit onto the main roads.

CAUTIONS

Please do not use your cell phone during drop-off. Children are not always as watchful as they should be and adults need to watch for them.

Please watch for our crossing guides and follow their directions.

Pick Up Procedure (November 2021 Update)

Each family is assigned one number. This number should be clearly displayed as your car pulls up to our school to pick up your student(s). It is easiest for staff to see your number if it is attached to the passenger side sun visor.

It is helpful if you have your number printed on pink paper (for red zone) or light blue paper (for blue zone) to help us guide your car to the correct location. Here is a template for your number display:

Numbers 1-350 are picked up in the BLUE ZONE, and numbers 351-900 are picked up in the RED ZONE.  Please see the pickup diagram. The crosswalk will be out of action during dismissal now that we have alternative safe exit points. NOTE the areas where we ask that you safely ‘zipper’ one car at a time as it changes from two lanes to one. Please DO NOT load students in an area that is one lane, indicated by the purple arrows. RED numbers may enter using the second lane, but MUST stay single file until the circle at the entrance of the school.

We will start entering carpool numbers 10 minutes before the end of school. If you arrive early, you are welcome to wait in a single line, keeping the passing lane clear as shown in the following diagram. After 3pm you will be ushered forward. We will only be entering numbers from the main line, so please wait here until your number has been entered.

As teachers see the numbers come through, they will release the children who have cars in the line outside. This way we eliminate time students are waiting outside (this encourages smaller waiting pools outside, less chaos for drivers, and keeps students out of our extreme Utah weather). Students will not be released from their class until their family number is put into the system. Students will follow one of the  paths shown in the diagram below: walkers, red zone, or blue zone.

*If your student is having a playdate with another student, you will need to let them know your family's number so they can let our staff know to input it. Playdates need to be pre-organized so that all students and parents involved are aware.

WALKING PASSES

1) Walking passes will be issued to any family who applies. The school will not ensure safe walking routes off of school property.

2) A Restricted Walking Pass Zone will be established, meaning that families are not to request walker tags with the intention of picking them up in a vehicle outside of the school's parking lot. This causes issues with our business neighbors.

Any family who picks up students (in vehicle) in the restricted walking zone will have their walking pass rescinded. Please be respectful to us and our neighbors.
